Tidewall Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

Tidewall is a browser extension that checks messages typed into AI tools for personal data and secrets before they are sent. It is built so that what you type never leaves your device.

What Tidewall does not do

What stays on your device

Company-managed installations

If your organisation installs Tidewall through Google Workspace, Microsoft Intune or similar, it can set your rules through your browser's managed settings. In this version your organisation does not receive your activity list or any message content from Tidewall.

Your rights

Because Tidewall does not collect personal data, there is nothing held by us to access, correct or delete. You can remove all data Tidewall stores in your browser by clearing the activity list or removing the extension.

Changes

If a future version offers optional features that send any data off your device (for example an admin console), they will be described here before release and will need to be turned on by you or your organisation.
